I’m Brieanne,

(aka Brie aka Britney Spearz). I’m a tattooist and artist who lives and works in Calgary. I have a design degree from AU Arts - formerly Alberta College of Art and Design, with a major in illustration and a minor in animation.
Over the past several years I’ve been seeking to perfect a unique style that embodies my connection to mysticism, emotion, the natural world, and semiotics. While I believe we can always be improving, I’ve become very fluent with my style and artistic language. Up until recently most of my work was presented on paper, canvas or digitally but I’ve found a way to give my illustrations a new meaning and permanence through the act of tattooing..
My work across all mediums has been described as lowbrow pop surrealist - reminiscent of psychedelic drug trips and the art and graphic design of the 1960’s alternative music scene. Dreamlike spirituality and the beauty and complexity of nature heavily inspires my otherworldly art style lending itself well to contemporary tattoo culture.
Through art making I aim to make meaningful connections with my audience and feel as though the collaborative energy between my tattoo clients and I is an essential component of my work. Creating a safe, fun and comfortable environment for my clients is a top priority and I can’t wait to make some great memories with you!
